This book consists of four lists from the early 1800s found in the Tennessee State Archives, the principal one being a list of over 1,800 names of all people who obtained land grants in the District South of French Broad & Holston from the State of Tennessee between 1806 and 1812. The District South of French Broad & Holston consisted of all of Blount County, almost all of Sevier County, except the tip above the French Broad River, the part of Cocke County west of the Big Pigeon River, the part of Knox County south of the French Broad River, the part of Jefferson County south of the French Broad River. The list consists of the landowner name, number of acres, and the county where the land was located.
