Effies Angels

Back in the 1930s and 1940s, the supernatural was the natural, especially if you grew up in a small outport around the coast of Newfoundland. Seeing Jack O'Lantern before a storm, witnessing the Token of someone before they die, listening to ghost stories that became real were all part of growing up. Icebergs, whales, and cod traps full of fish, pot belly stoves, one room schools, and one holers were all part of one's environment.
