Railroad 1896 along the Historic Union Pacific Through Nebraska is the first of three books chronicling the construction of the Union Pacific state-be-state as they raced to meet the Central Pacific Railroad at Promontory Summit Utah. While struggling across Nebraska the railroad builders' dogged determination opened new lands to eager settlers and homesteaders. Original photographs by Arundel C. Hull and others richly illustrate that monumental effort.
