On the Winds of Destiny: A Biographical Look at Pony Express Riders is the first book to deal specifically with the men who operated and rode for the famed transcontinnental mail delivery company of 1860-1861. Although its founders, operators, and riders are listed, those biographies featured in this book are of the 69 riders whose photographs are found in The St. Joseph Museums Inc. of St. Joseph, Missouri, archives. The book also contains an overview of the history of the Pony Express and a list of bibliographic sources.
