My First Book of Manners

Mind Your Manners is a standards- and language arts–based character education program for children in the early elementary grades. This is the first book, geared for K–1, and promotes social and emotional development. The book makes creative use of poetry in promoting a sense of social responsibility. This program teaches children how to behave and helps them understand why they should behave in this way. Learning good manners presents an opportunity for children to discern and develop behavior appropriate to a given situation. Good manners are interpreted as being kind and thoughtful of others. Being kind and thoughtful greatly enhances a child’s chances of making friends with both children and adults.
