The history of the landmark Art Deco-style Ada County Courthouse as told by the people who worked there. Interviews include: a courtroom artist, reporters, a deputy marshal, several judges and prominent local attorneys, plus a current Idaho Supreme Court Justice and the Lieutenant Governor of Idaho. Also included is information about the social context at the time the building was constructed, information about the significance of the WPA murals that decorate the central public space of the building and the building's architectural significance as one of the few public Art Deco-styled buildings in Boise, Idaho. Significant events to occur at the courthouse include the Boys of Boise trial and the filming of a portion of the motion picture "Bronco Billy," produced by and starring Clint Eastwood. Published by the Ada County Historic Preservation Council with help from Boise State University's Center for Idaho History and Politics.
