'The Complete Portuguese Water Dog' (with information from her co-author, the late Deyanne Miller) won Best Book of the Year for 1986 from the Dog Writers Association of America Inc (DWAA) and her novel 'Murder in the Senior Manor' (2011) won Best Mystery Novel of the Year from the DWAA. Retired, she lives in an independent senior manor. "It's a great retirement. I have time for things I've always wanted to do, including writing." One toy Havanese dog lives with her and are delightfully spoiled by the over one hundred residents. In her earlier days, she worked as a stage and radio actress, an exhibitor and breeder of purebred dogs, and was under civilian contract as a Librarian for the Air Force Minuteman Missile project.
