Definitions: The phrases, "earth mind" and "spirit mind" are used in the book. You may better understand by knowing the author’s definition of these two phrases:
"Earth mind" -- The human earth mind is the part of our thinking that is empowered or influenced by the human aspect of life. The human aspect is that which will no longer exist or need to be utilized after our physical death.
"Spirit mind" -- The spirit mind is the way humans can communicate with God through the Holy Spirit and is also able to communicate with one’s earth mind. Our spirit is that which God breathed into us at the point of creation of each individual. It also refers to that same spirit in us that receives new life when we repent, confess sin, and receive the rebirth provided by the sacrifice of Christ.
This book is not an effort to thoroughly explain all aspects contained in any one verse. It is not a complete commentary on the verses used but it does give considerable insight into specific verses. There are times when the Scripture verse is used as a springboard to discuss the emotional experiences of humanity.
There may be many times when you will feel the devotional was written just for you. No, the author has not been talking to your spouse or friend.
