The Adventures of Bo the Cloud: The Rainbow Bird

This delightful book carries with it a cassette having the songs which accompany the story on side one. Side two contains the story and songs performed by a professional cast. Bo, the Cloud is a character that teaches friendship. This wise mentor sails across the sky with Nugget, The Rainbow Bird. Nugget is sad because he doesn't look like the rest of the birds. His feathers are all different colors because of his stormy beginning. Just after his mother re-tells the story of his beginning, Bo the Cloud, an ever present friend, enters the picture. With Mom's approval, Bo and Nugget fly "out west to spread the word, we're looking for a rainbow bird" and a solution to the feathers of many colors. Each bird friend they meet brings a way of looking at Nugget's desire that is both accepting and supportive. Each delivers the message that Nugget is fine the way he is and then at Nugget's insistence helps him in some way to become all one color. The bird friends are quite creative in their abilities to help. Of course, none of these "fixes" works and Nugget must find a way to accept himself the way he is. Bo guides him to do just that.
