One day Mother remarks to Father that it is a pity he does no t write down the stories of his childhood, so that when this small person grows up to be an old lady she can read them aloud to her own grandchildren. Later on, Mother makes more remarks along the same line; and then the Small Person takes it up, and she remarks and remarks and REMARKS on how she would likes so much to be a grown up young lady "flapper", with high heels and bobbed hair, and a wrist watch and everything, and then she could read to er grandchild the stories about Father when he was a boy. This is has come about. After much persuading and urging and remarking, Father has put into writing some of the stories, which he has related to the Small Person during the Wake-Up-Time, Father offers no apologies for the stories; because they are all true, and every incident related if one that actually occurred. Every person, place or thing mentioned is one that actually lived, mewed, barked, clucked, gobbled, or in thes
