Everything for the RoadMaker: Illustrated History 1875 to 1945

Everything for the RoadMaker takes the reader from the newly cut trails of Upper Canada to the laying of bitumen (asphalt) on built-up gravel roads. What started out as a description of what people wanted - good roads - evolved from a concept to a political movement and the trade name for the manufacturer of the very equipment needed to produce good roads. The story of the evolution of the road building macines from 1875 to 1945 includes the politics behind good roads and an in-depth look at a major producer of road making equipment. This is the first collaboration between Bill Barlow and Rhea Hamilton Seeger.
