A Destiny Is Sworn
Description:
Historical Fiction. In Welsh mythology "to swear a destiny" upon anyone was to deliver that person, for good or ill, into the hands of that ageless and inexorable mistress: Fate. A Destiny is Sworn is a story about Fate. It tells of Wales in the early years of the 15th century: of the national uprising of the great Welsh leader, Owain Glyndwr - of a world of bards, bawds, warriors, monks, prophets, matriarchs, heroes and fools; of dreams, ideals, great causes, dazzling victories, shattered hopes, depraved politics and deeds of high emprize. Above all, it gives the live and loves of one particular family: the children of Sir Tudor ap Grono, a chieftain of Ynys Mon (the Isle of Anglesey). Known to their countrymen as the Men of Eden, they would emerge from the crucible of war in their native land to give another name to one of the leading dynasties of Europe: the Tudors.
