Today's farmers and ranches have to be resourceful, resilient, and resolute to survive in an ever changing global economy. These characteristics have always been the hallmark of New Mexico's farmers and ranchers, as they battled drought, poor markets, and isolation. Many of these obstacles were not only overcome, but they were often viewed philosophically and with no small amount of humor.
