American Record Labels & Companies: An Encyclopedia (1891-1943)

This book/CD-ROM examines American record labels and the companies that produced them in light of rare primary source material, including original trade press releases, federal court records, corporate filings, and patent and trademark registrations. Detailed histories of some 425 US record labels are presented alphabetically, along with operating histories of some 100 record producers, studios, and manufacturers. Appendices provide information on children's labels and phantom labels, a glossary, and corporate genealogical charts. The included CD-ROM contains images of record labels.
