Poetry. Dictionary.com defines theophany as "A manifestation of God to man by actual appearance, usually as an incarnation." THE GARDEN provides such action in a dramatic lyric work which is highly conscious of its literary context, but is compelling in its treatment of life and death, love and gardens.
