Runaway Father

Note to My Readers -- Following a divorce and bitter custody battle, I became a "Visiting Father" to the two people I loved most in the world - my ten-year-old daughter, Lori, and my eight-year-old son, Ryan. But by court decree, another man would raise my children. Unable to cope with my feelings of loss, anger, and betrayal, I responded by kidnapping my children.

In Runaway Father, you'll travel with me on my journey into a world of deceit, a world of hiding out and of coping with the constant fear of being discovered. A parallel inner journey reveals my growing awareness of the ultimate source of my anger that led to my destructive action. Throughout Runaway Father, scenes and vignettes of our life on the run show how insights and gradual shifts in my values came at unexpected moments along the way.

I came to understand that my anger had little to do with the actions of others, but everything to with my own inner state of being. My unhealed childhood wounds kept me from loving myself and others. By taking personal responsibility for my actions, I opened the door to my inner self and gradually to greater self-acceptance. Runaway Father encourages each of you to look at how you too, can grow from the dark turns of your lives.

I know now we all are living a spiritual life on a journey of awakening to love. Such is the journey shared with you here in the belief that as I offer my story, we will meet heart to heart."
