Adam Smith: Bird Watcher

The book is the story of an industrialist-entrepreneur who has established a north woods laboratory dedicated to engineering particular bacterial species capable of rendering harmless biocides released by man into the environment. A second bacterial species is being engineered to produce hydrogen in industrial quantities. The novel describes the industrialist's vicissitudes with his board of directors, his scientific and management staff, environmentalists, the government, and his own family.
