We Happy Few
Description:
WE HAPPY FEW is a war story in a sense. At least it's about the long-term effects of war. Three survivors of the invasion of the terrible fighting on Ohama Beach in 1944 meet each year in Normandy, still looking for answers and bonding as war buddies. With them come their wives, creating another dynamic. And this year, Tucker, the organizer, brings alone his grandson and his wife, a young couple with such serious marriage problems that both drift into infidelities even on this short vacation. And so, WE HAPPY FEW ultimately becomes a generational novel, a love story, and a look at the contrasting ways couples of two widely separated generations look at love, marriage and loyalty. As the novel gains heat, there are some real surprises ahead for the reader.
