Lullabies and Nightmares is a semi-fictional creation. It deals with the practice of Pediatric Medicine as the author lived it. It covers more than fifty-five years of dealing with children and the sweeping changes that took place in the years that he practiced. Dr. Roberts has taken great pains to tell these stories so that real events are portrayed, but the families do not appear as identifiable individuals.
