Pronouncercizing: A Whole-Body Approach to Learning the Sounds of North American English (Book & DVD)

The Pronouncercizing approach helps students develop new patterns of mouth muscle coordination and strength, thus allowing them to more easily internalize the pronounciation of North American English. All of the sounds required to "speak English" have accompanying movements. These movements focus student attention on how to make the sounds, lower students' affective filter and build student confidence and class unity. Illustrations show how to make the Pronouncercizing movements and act as a resource to support independent student learning. The exercises are especially well-suited to ESL Beginning Literacy and ESL Low Beginning students. However, the movements have been used successfully at all levels of ESL. As an added bonus, the book and two accompanying DVD's are organized to introduce new ESL teachers to the North American English sound system.
