The Wooodles: Stretching Your Imagination
Description:
Imagination is a wonderful gift. If encouraged in childhood, it can continue a lifetime. When you look in the clouds, shadows or puddles, the fanciful creatures you see are really Wooodles. Watercolor artist Perla Fox discovered Wooodles in her warm-up exercises when her own children saw whimsical characters in her splashes & squiggles. Child psychologist Deborah Lieberman, feels that finding & making Wooodles will encourage children to express themselves creatively. To assist in this discovery, Fox collaborated with Lieberman in writing humorous verses & developing fun activities for THE WOOODLES. Fox's brightly colored free-form pictures are a starting point. Children see Wooodles everywhere. Suggestions by school children of Wooodle hiding places are also incorporated in the book. Easy fun activities allow everyone to make Wooodles with materials normally found around the home. Parents, teachers & caregivers can now enjoy the fun of discovering these imaginary figures with their children. Help children find & create Wooodles of their own.
