The author, who writes articles for outdoor magazines, was previously known for his several titles on natural archery and wooden bows. Here he tells of some overgrazed ranch land he buys and the crafty whitetail monarch who is elusive, to say the least. Here is their tale of hunter and animal, squaring off against each other, as the author gradually begins to renew his new-found ranch. Lovely writing; a real feel for the outdoor life.
