BIBLIO AFRICANA is the new reader's guide on African studies & related subjects compiled by Charles S. Finch III. It is a collection of compendia of 214 books under six subject headings: Africa & the Origin of Humanity, African Antiquity--The Nile Valley Connection, The Cultural History of the Old World--Studies in comparative Myth, Religion, & Symbolism, Modern African Studies--1,000 Years of Cultural History, Before Columbus--The African Factor in Meso-America, Africans in the New World--Life, History, & Culture. This annotated bibliography is designed to guide the reader to references--old & new--that underpin the new historiography re-establishing Africa's place in world history. The books described & evaluated in this collection represent the distillation of 20 years of continuous research & will open the reader to a new panorama of history that, until recently, was all-but-forgotten.
