The Laws of New England to the Year 1700

This work is a compilation of laws used in New England during the earliest years of the settlement of the United States. They are reprinted from the original pages of Daniel Neal's History of New England published in 1720. In this collection are laws affecting everyday life in the earliest decades of Colonial America. Covering areas of concern from minor infractions and civil matters to capital offenses and the administration of the militia, the laws and the punishments are simple and straightforward. A folding map showing New England as it looked in 1720 is bound in the front of the book.
