Pogue-Pollock-Polk Genealogy As Mirrored in History: From Scotland to Northern Ireland-Ulster, Ohio and Westward
Description:
Description from the book flap: This genealogy of the Pogue/Pollock/Polk Clan also presents some assessments, historical in anture, of the times through which the Clan developed. Inventions, discoveries, and important events are often noted occurring in years in which various members of the Clan were born. One Fulbert (b. ca. 1080) was the earliest known progenitor of the Clan. He lived in Renfrewshire, Scotland (near Glasgow). One of his descendants was John Pollack/Pogue who emigrated from County Down, Norther Ireland with his family to America in 1789. He was a Presbyterian (and a Covenanter in addition). He was apparently swept up in the tide of immigrants flooding to the New World. Eventually this family, following the movements of the Covenanters westward, settled (ca. 1808) in Licking County, Ohio, near Zanesville.
