This book takes the form of the last will and testament of a man who died a pauper. In it he bequeaths to humanity the things he values--the simple and good things of this world--such as the laughter between parents and children, the glory of play in the fields and woods, the drowsy pleasure of watching a burning hearth, the fresh delight of young love, and the deep joy of reading books. We have illustrated the words with paintings and illustrations.
