Wee Folks Reading Series/ (Books 1-5 and Practice Exercises Workbook)

This five volume reading series is an eclectic approach to beginning reading. Phonics is introduced in story form, lending itself to building comprehension, skills & simultaneously, sight words to build vocabulary as well. Each sound is introduced with illustrations that represent that sound. Books One through Four teach the vowel sounds & this teaching of sounds in context allows for the immediate application of phonetic skills learned. This approach follows the principle of use & reinforcement. Book Five, "Wee Folks on Top" (Adventures in Reading), contains stories, fables & poetry with follow-up questions to improve comprehension.
