Man and Yosemite a Photographer's View of the Early Years.

Amazingly enough, Yosemite was not "discovered" by the white man until AFTER the invention of photography. Thus, we have an almost continuous photographic record of the visitors changing relationship with this gentle wilderness. This book attempts to set that history out in an almost 'time lapse', historic, photographic record. The early plates are mid 1800's and the latest photos [more generic] are 1970's. the greatest number are 1860's to 1900
