North Platte Canteen

Truly heartwarming story of how the citizens of North Platte, Nebraska and the surrounding communities operated a canteen to feed World War II service men and women on troop trains that stopped there during the war. Up to 23 trains a day rolled through town, requiring business-like coordination and about 55,000 volunteers over the years.
