Excerpt from the Preface: Tahquitz and Suicide Rocks provide excellent climbing on quality rock; however, the days of exploration and new routes are all but gone. This is not to say that a few new routes will not appear; in fact, several viable new lines remain to be completed. But for the most part, the multi-faceted faces of Suicide and the numerous cracks and lines of weakness at Tahquitz are all but climbed out. Of eight aid routes which remain at both rocks, it s doubtful that more than two of three will ever go free. Nevertheless, the climbing at Tahquitz and Suicide offers many challenges for both the seasoned local and visiting climber. For example, for the novice climber, Tahquitz provides an unparalleled number of high quality long climbs at moderate and easy levels of difficulty. This current edition now includes many high quality photographs of the rocks in order to better describe routes and alleviate confusion. An historical section and first ascent list further flesh out the information contained herein.
