American racer, 1940-1980

'American Racer' 1940-1980 covers the evolution of American Class "C" racing year by year, from the inception of stripped street machines in 1934 to the purpose-built racing motorcycles which became the standard in the following decades. Arranged chronologically ,it documents the yearly round of Class "C" competition including the classic Mile, Half-Mile, T.T. and Roadrace events. It also covers dry lake record attempts, Drag Racing, Sidecars, Enduros and Speedway. Each decade is illustrated by carefully chosen photographs which convey the excitement and drama of American motorcycle racing.
