Limited to 105 copies in this special edition which includes an extra pamphlet by Simon Lawrence of the Fleece Press. An illustrated catalogue of woodcuts from the Omega Workshop. Woodcuts enjoyed a revival as an artistic medium in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the artists--Roger Fry, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, [Dora] Carrington, et al.--associated with the Workshop contributed a number of wood- and linocuts to Omega publications between about 1911 and 1921. This limited edition contains 206 illustrations, 165 of them reproductions of cuts by Fry and 12 others--all of those woodcuts known to exist from these artists but not necessarily made for Omega , including 17 tipped-in reproductions in color. The catalogue itself is compiled by Jeremy Greenwood, who is a partner in the Wood Lea Press and has also compiled catalogues of the wood engravings of John and Paul Nash. Introduction is by Judith Collins, who wrote an earlier book on the Omega Workshops in 1984. Enclosed is also a brochure with 10 prints made directly from original blocks that are only in this special edition.
