Mary O'Gorman lives in Clonmel but grew up in Killarney. She is married, has two daughters and works in Loreto Secondary School, Clonmel. Her poems have been published in Poetry Ireland Review, Books Ireland, Southword, Sunday Tribune, Oxford Magazine and elsewhere. She was a finalist in the Strokestown Poetry Prize and twice in the Sunday Tribune / Hennessy Awards for poetry. She read her poems on RTE Radio One and was the winner of the first Cork Literary Review Manuscript Contest in 2001. Her first collection, Barking at Blackbirds, was published by Bradshaw Books, Cork, in 2001. (Doghouse Books).
