Pathobiology of the Aging Rat: Blood and Lymphoid, Respiratory, Urinary, Cardiovascular, and Reproductive Systems

The main purpose of this monograph is to provide up-to-date information on age-associated changes which influence the interpretation of pathological data derived from experimental studies on the major strains of laboratory rats used throughout the world. Within each organ system the aim is to cover development, growth and ageing; non-neoplastic and neoplastic age-associated lesions; and changes in susceptibility to toxins during ageing. This is the first of two volumes. The second volume will contain general aspects, nervous system and special sense organs, endocrine system, digestive system, integumentary system and mammary gland, and musculoskeletal and soft tissue.
