Concepts and Responses: International Architectural Design Competition for the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi

This volume reflects the vast range of responses and cultural approaches to the unique architectural challenge of designing the Indira Gandhi Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), a sprawling cultural complex that will cover a 10-hectare site in New Delhi. The international competition for the IGNCA design drew 194 entries from 37 countries. Presented here are about 50 of the proposals, of which the first five prize-winning entries are set forth in some detail.
