The Wisdom Tree
Description:
The Wisdom Tree uses the analogy of a genealogical world tree of man's religions to show how man's beliefs are uniquely distinct yet part of one system. It is at the outer edges of the tree that divisions prevail. At the core of the tree there is something far different. The journey to the inner core of the Wisdom Tree is a spiritual journey on which we find our essential isness and essence. In a sense the journey is like coming home. Each chapter goes to the core of the various world faiths to show how a Divine /intelligence we call God is revealing a decipherable message through various cultures and traditions. The concluding chapters are on mysticism and near death narrations, which are an integral part of that message. The author felt inspired to write this book after years of teaching Comparative World Religions in Asia after his own near death experience in 1982.
