November 1987: The Soviet Union celebrated the 70the anniversary of Communist rule of Russia. November 1988: The Soviet Church celebrated the 1,000th anniversary of Christianity in Russia. November 1991: The Soviet Union fell one month later. RED NOVEMBER. A time of change, a time of challenge. As the Russian people remembered the 1917 political revolution that resounded change across the continents, the Russian Church rejoiced that it had survived for a thousand years in spite of a system intent on destroying Christianity. Now, the "new" policies challenge every believer to reconsider even the most basic assumptions about the goals of the Russian government and the future of the Russian Church. This is the story of one man's experience behind the Iron Curtain, as he shares his perspective of Soviet change, the American Church and the opportunities for outreach never before available.
