Our Peaceful Classroom

Montessori children from around the world provided artwork for this celebration of the calm, peaceful setting to which Montessori schools aspire. The narrative highlights everyday happenings in a Montessori classroom and then explores the bigger lessons--cooperation, learning, respect for individuals and other cultures, and responsibility for our environment. All these principles, which are implicit in Montessori's philosophy of education, challenge children to create "peaceful classrooms" in and for the rest of their lives. Imagine such a world!
