The first volume presented an overview of the pathology of AIDS, with special emphasis on neuropathology. The second volume deals with specific aspects of pathogenesis and subtypes of infectious and neoplastic manifestations that have only been recognized in the later phases of the epidemic. The 16 papers discuss such topics as the HIV envelope and its role in the pathogenesis of AIDS, rare lesions such as the benign lymphoepithelial lesions of the salivary glands, bacillary epitheloid angiomatosis, acalculous cholecystitis, AIDS-related tuberculosis, and histoplasmosis, strongoloidiasis, and pediatric tumors.
