Roy M. Huhndorf, president of the Cook Inlet Region, Inc., from 1975 to 1995, presents a series of essays covering topics ranging from the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, self-reliance, education, health, leadership, religion, politics, and the ongoing debate about subsistence issues. These articles originally appeared in The Anchorage Times between 1981 and 1984. Much of his advice and his views are as timely today as they were when first presented.
