An illustrated guide to the legendary trees of Santa Monica Bay

I don't know where this book came from or how long I've had it. But it has served to educate me about the rich plant life of my home town. I guess it was a Victorian tradition that while on vacation in exotic climes to load up a steamer trunk with seeds and shoots of interesting trees and flowers, bring them home and if not contribute to the local botanical garden at least spread them out all over your hometown. I've seen that story repeated on plaques at gardens all over the planet.
