John Finlau wrote Poems about the American South, Thomistic theology, and the classical Greek culture, among other subjects, always with the style that reverred traditional form.John Finlay died of AIDS in 1991 at the age of fifty. His poems had appeared in the Southern Review, The Hudson Review, and several other literary quarterlies, as well as in chapbooks published by Robert L. Barth and The Cummington Press.
