Words of Encouragement

The Bible is replete with the accounts of discouraged saints--and they include many of great, renown in the most responsible places: Moses, the great lawgiver, David, the greatest king to ever ascend to the throne of Israel, Elijah, the great prophet of revival, Jonah, the preacher of repentance, and even John the Baptist, the last of the prophets about whom Jesus said, "Among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist." (Matthew 11:11) The fact is--no Christian is exempt from discouragement. We are all susceptible to it. Regardless of how common discouragement is in the church today, we should not yield to it, for it breeds defeat--spiritual and otherwise. The progress of the gospel is greatly hindered in the life of an individual, as well as a church, during a time of discouragement. The objective of these WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT is to reveal the reality of it and the remedy for it. These messages are not merely emotional pep talks to produce temporary hype--they are timely biblical truth that deal with a problem that is peculiar to all God's people.
