Drumright, the Glory Days of a Boom Town

A Treasure of Oil History, Memories and Pictures. In March 1912 the discovery of oil on the Wheeler farm in Creek County, Oklahoma, started the greatest oil field in the world to that time. Thousands rushed into the barren hill country and founded a dozen oil field towns. One of these, Drumright, was the heart of the great field and has survived for more than 70 years.
