The Elizabeth Sequence

This sequence of poems, put together over twenty years, develops a portrait of love both discovered and lost, requited and unrequited, erotic and spiritual. Each poem stands apart and at the same time lets its particular light fall upon the struggles and the moments of evanescent beauty toward which this life - and the mystery of male and female - are continually bearing us.
