This catalogue documents a major exhibition demonstrating expressive, utilitarian, ceremonial, and decorative uses of bone, ivory, horn, and antler. Part I explores the historical manipulation of these materials on four continents; Part II focuses on their use by contemporary American artists such as Robert Hudson, William Harper, Gary Noffke, Susan Ford, Ron Ho, Robert Natalini, Norma Minkowitz, Jane Sauer, and Michael Newhall.
