Thrilling Events: Life of Henry Starr (The Early West)
Description:
Reprint of 1914 edition. Limited to 1,000, numbered, leatherbound, all edges gilt. Index, 9 b/w photos. Henry Starr wrote his life story in 1914, while imprisoned in Colorado State Penitentiary. It is the source book for any research centered on Starr. A half-blood Cherokee born in Indian Territory in 1872, Starr grew up to become one of the boldest of bank robbers for almost thirty years. As he lay suffering from wounds received in his last bank robbery in 1921, he boasted that he had robbed more banks than anyone else in America. Ramon Adams designated this book as exceedingly rare (only 3 or 4 copies of the original are known to exist), and included it in his Adams 150.
