Strategies of Psychotherapy

This reissued version of a work first published 30 years ago, deals with ground rules for the practice of psychotherapy, setting out the basic tenets of strategic therapy, presenting various approaches to therapy from the viewpoint of paradoxical communication and offering an historical overview of the origins of family therapy.

The introduction to the book has been revised and updated. The original work was published as a result of an investigation into the whole field of therapy undertaken by the George Bateson research project in 1963.
