Word History: A Guide to Understanding the English Language

This guide will demonstrate the value of studying language history and will provide material and suggestions you can use to complement your language arts program. Its goal is to make upper level students aware of the development of the English language and to help them understand more fully the reasons for current conventions in spelling and grammar.
