Here is a collection of stories from the author's mother and other women of a generation that grew up among buffalo-era elders of the Blackfoot tribes in Montana and Canada. Included are childhood memories of reservation life, boarding school, and the hardships of starting their own families in the years when jobs and money were scarce, and when tribal traditions were on the decline.
